4-D Ultrasound Viewing
The physicians of The Women’s Health Group are pleased to offer
a new service to our patients: 4-D Ultrasound viewing. Our state
of the art GE Voluson 730 – 3-D/4-D ultrasound unit allows us
the opportunity to provide the most recent in ultrasound
technology to you.

In addition to the 1st trimester and 2nd trimester diagnostic scans
routinely performed on all TWHG obstetric patients, you will have the
choice of scheduling a 3rd trimester, non-diagnostic, 4-D
Ultrasound viewing.

3-D Ultrasound provides an entertaining look at your baby before it is
born. Modern technology uses sound waves and computer reconstruction
to show a realistic image of your baby. 4-D Ultrasound adds a fourth
dimension, which is time. This means, in addition to reconstructing
images to print, you are also able to see baby move on the screen,
referred to as “real-time” imaging.

3-D/4-D viewing is not intended to take the place of a 2-D diagnostic scan to document fetal growth and evaluate fetal anatomy. 2-D Ultrasound remains the best tool for diagnostic imaging to help ensure your baby is healthy. Only established patients of TWHG with a diagnostic scan on file will be scheduled for 4-D viewing sessions.

4-D Ultrasound Viewing Sessions Include:
- Live imaging performed with adequate time to obtain images
   (usually approximately 20 minutes)
- Several color photos provided
- Black & white paper prints
- Photo images on CD | Image Gallery
- Live imaging on DVD | Sample Video
- Fetal heart rate check
- Ensure fetal movement
